Goal

The primary objective was to develop a user-validated product that enhances the integration of 'seamless-built-in' technology with user expectations for a 'furniture-like' experience within their home context environment. This materialized through objectives such as introducing a new exterior module, adopting a evolved CMFP approach, and implementing new interior and exterior PI.

Ceremonial Exterior

The external design reflected the recurring behaviors and needs of users in an open kitchen designed to evoke a sense of personal ceremony and ritual. To achieve this, we introduced a crucial exterior module—the Instant Cooling, the exterior VUI/UX and Product Identity 'Space in Space' principle, and a hand-crafted fine-dining-inspired CMF extension.

Asymetric Interior

The interior design draws inspiration from the asymmetrical open-storage design prevalent in our primary user research and validation. It incorporates an inherent sense of spatial segmentation and modular flexibility, both in function and visibility.

Interface

Serving as the 'tech hub,' the interior adopts a furnitech-like 'shy tech' UX and UI approach, providing functionality and visibility only when needed.

Status

Currently we are collaborating closely with the development team to bring our vision to fruition, addressing challenges, visiting suppliers, and providing guidance in design decision-making as we progress from the prototype stage to mass production, with a target launch in Spring 2024.

The 'Fast Cool' module is currently patent pending.
